Children and Television Media Policy Roundtable Discussion

In February, Kathleen Q. Abernathy, Commissioner, Federal Communications Commission; Edward J. Markey, D-MA; Jill Luckett, Vice President, Program Network Policy, National Cable & Telecommunications Association; Patti Miller, Director of the Children and Media Program, Children Now; Vicky Rideout, Vice President of the Kaiser Family Foundation; Amy Jordan, Senior Researcher, Annenberg Public Policy Center, and Emory Woodard, Assistant Professor, Villanova University presented their perspectives on the effectiveness of current public policies, such as the V-Chip and TV ratings system, designed to help parents who want to supervise children’s media use. In addition, the Center released new research on the V-Chip.
