Engaging Other Political Views: Natalie (Talia) Jomini Stroud is an Associate Professor of Communication Studies and Assistant Director of Research at the Annette Strauss Institute for Civic Life at the University of Texas at Austin. Her book, Niche News: The Politics of News Choice (Oxford University Press, 2011), received the International Communication Association’s 2012 Outstanding Book Award. Dr. Stroud, an APPC distinguished research fellow, is currently working on the Engaging News Project, a grant-funded research project to identify democratically beneficial and commercially viable techniques for engaging news audiences online.

 

About the Speaker

Natalie (Talia) Jomini Stroud is an Associate Professor of Communication Studies and Journalism, and directs the Center for Media Engagement at the University of Texas at Austin.
