Lucy Whitmore
Climate Communication
Lucy Whitmore is a Civic Science Fellow in the Climate Communication Division at the Annenberg Public Policy Center. She is particularly interested in using mixed-methods and interdisciplinary approaches to support well-being in the face of the climate crisis, especially among young people. Her program of research focuses on how real-world features of our environments (e.g. social networks/connections, surrounding natural and built environments) influence behavior, decision making, and well-being. As a Civic Science Fellow, Lucy will apply her background in social network research, participatory action frameworks, and neuroscience to develop civically oriented research projects focused on climate and health communication, civic action, and social connection and resilience. Prior to joining the lab, Lucy received a B.S. in Cognitive Science from the University of California, Berkeley, and completed her Ph.D. in Psychology at the University of Oregon.
