Kermit Roosevelt is a Professor of Law at the University of Pennsylvania Law School. His teaching and research focus on constitutional law and conflict of laws. His articles have appeared in the Columbia, Virginia, Michigan, and Pennsylvania law reviews, among others, and he is the author of several books, including The Myth of Judicial Activism (Yale 2006) and the novel In the Shadow of the Law (FSG 2005). Before joining the Penn faculty, he clerked for Judge Stephen F. Williams on the Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit and for Justice David H. Souter on the Supreme Court and practiced law in Chicago. He is a fellow of the Yale Information Society Project and a member of the American Law Institute.
