Michael Weisberg is Associate Professor and Chairman of the Graduate Group in Philosophy at the University of Pennsylvania, where he is also faculty affiliate of the Institute for Research in Cognitive Science, a consulting scholar for the Physical Anthropology Section of Penn Museum, and a member of the History and Sociology of Science Graduate Group. He received his Ph.D. in Philosophy from Stanford University. Professor Weisberg's research focuses on the strategies scientists employ in the construction, development, and analysis of theories and models in computationally complex sciences, and the public's understanding and misunderstanding of evolutionary biology. He recently published Simulation and Similarity: Using Models to Understand the World with Oxford University Press.
