National Health Behavior Survey Data Now Available

Data from the Annenberg National Health Communication Survey (ANHCS) is now available to the public on a new website (http://anhcs.asc.upenn.edu).  Core data from the 2005 ANHCS survey has been posted and will soon be updated to include 2006 core data and a user’s guide.

The Annenberg National Health Communication Survey is designed to capture national trends relating to health behavior and behavioral intentions to media exposure, health knowledge and beliefs. It is the only survey that is continuously in the field with a nationally representative sample. ANHCS is one of the few surveys emphasizing health communication and its possible outcomes.

The website includes lists of publications and presentations based on ANHCS data and provides registered guests the ability to access the data and user’s guide.  Data are available in SPSS and STATA versions.

ANHCS is a program of the Annenberg Foundation Trust at Sunnylands and the Annenberg School for Communication at the University of Pennsylvania. The peogram is administered with the assistance of the Annenberg Public Policy Center.

The 2007 ANHCS core data will be made available online in January 2009.
